With 25 years in the fire service across 5 departments - from rural/semi-rural to busy urban systems, I’ve been involved with wildland fires, responded or trained in many rescue disciplines, and a whole lot of EMS. This amounts to thousands of calls and exposure to the full spectrum of fire department cultures.

I’ve also taught at paramedic schools, fire academies and private organizations, with a hand in training, mentoring and hiring all along the way.

I have a personal life credo — say yes to any new challenge. That yes allows me to live an incredibly full life, with a broad spectrum of experiences. Those experiences and challenges were sometimes pretty tough, and so I’m open and honest about some of the tougher challenges in the modern-day fire service, having had my own, including PTSD. That openness, a spectrum of life pursuits, my sound understanding of fire service operations, and my firefighter life, together make me the kind of coach that understands that fire departments hire the well rounded, worldly individuals - not those with “stacked” resumes.

And so, no candidate that I work with comes out looking one dimensional.

Most importantly, everything I've done in the fire service and in life - especially responding, helping and teaching - has always came down to caring. My time actually riding the rig and responding are now confined to commanding scenes, my high level of service, commitment and care continues.

Especially in helping you.

With that, and your hard work, we'll get you the job.
